AYS Education Outreach Program

ATLANTA YOUNG SINGERS of Callanwolde is a 501(c)(3) arts organization with a 42-year history of strong support from the community, individuals, businesses, government, and foundations, including significant funding from the Metropolitan Atlanta Arts Fund, Georgia Council for the Arts (GCA), The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, John H. and Wilhelmina D. Harland Charitable Foundation, Joseph B Whitehead Foundation, The Tull Charitable Foundation, SouthArts, The Arnold Foundation, Russell Charitable Trust, and the National Endowment for the ArtsAmerican Masterpieces program through GCA.

Tuition covers only 59% of annual cost for a current Singer to participate; the balance of the annual operating fund must be raised through ticket sales, advertising revenue, grants, and corporate and individual support. All donors are recognized in our performance programs.

There are many ways to support AYS!

Don’t forget to attend performances and spread the word.

We hope that you will consider participating in one of our many programs.

Thanks to 177 generous backers on Kickstarter, we can offer you NIGHTINGALES, our first commercial CD since 1997!

NIGHTINGALES is only $15, plus $1.50 shipping/handling if we mail it to you.  NIGHTINGALES CDs are available at AYS performances or the AYS office.  Please contact AYS at and get your CD (or 10) today!

Sponsor a Singer

The AYS All Our Voices In Harmony Scholarship Funds – including the Mabel S. & Haskell E. Boyter Fund and Virginia P. Stratton Camp Fund –  help Singer families cover tuition, uniform, materials, and fees for tours or AYS Summer Music Camp.  Financial assistance is awarded to current Singers based on family financial need. The deadline for a full-year scholarship is August 1 prior to the start of a new season. The deadline for a half-year scholarship is January 2.

Your gift of music through a Sponsorship may be paid in full or paid over time throughout the season. For more information, please contact the AYS office at 404.873.3365 or Contact AYS to send an email for information on how to sponsor a child.

Support Cooperation & Leadership Skills

Help a Singer go on Tour

During every season, all AYS Singers raise money for Tour, finding unique ways to work together towards a common goal. In 2014, both the Treble Concert Choir and Youth Chorale are planning to compete in the WORLD CHOIR GAMES in Riga, LATVIA! AYS will be holding several fund raising events – 18-hour SINGATHON, Night of 100 Songs, fall and spring plant sales, and an AYS Singalong Movie Night – over the next several months. Stay tuned for more information and ways you can help!

Donate Today

AYS solicits donations each year for two primary funds – the AYS Operating Fund and the Stephen J. Ortlip Endowment Fund.

Donations to the Operating Fund are used to support clinics and the AYS My Journey Yours Workshops – such as the AYS Young Men’s Power Sing Project, cover performance and outreach expenses, commission new choral works from local and regional composers, and to pay the additional expenses of the organization not met by tuition.

Singer families are expected to give 20 hours of sweat equity. Alumni and community members donate sweat equity, too. Please contact the AYS office if your group is interested in helping.
