About
Regional Tours
 |
The
primary purpose of Regional Tours is to educate the singers.
Performances are a secondary goal.
Tours
are organized around an event in a city’s cultural community
such as a music festival. Regional Tours may result from an
invitation or AYS staff locating and securing an opportunity.
|
|
What is a Regional Tour?
|
- The opportunity to participate in a tour within the Southeast is offered once per season.
- Tours may last 3 to 4 days depending on the destination.
- Singers
travel by bus with AYS staff and chaperones.
- Whenever possible, home stays are arranged with host families.
|
|
Who is eligible to participate?
|
- Regional
Tour alternates every other year between Treble Concert
Choir and Youth Chorale.
- Participation
is based on demonstrated good rehearsal and performance
behavior.
|
|
How much does it cost?
|
- Tour
costs vary depending on destination and duration. Recent
Regional Tour costs have ranged between $250 and $350.
- Scholarships are available based on financial need and the musical skill of the singer.
